Purposes of The Corporation revised

The "Purposes" of a not-for-profit corporation, in our case, The Sweetwater Creative Collective, is a legal statement of the way in which The Collective intends to fulfill its Mission. Our Mission is to help people share their abundance in order to ease suffering. None can deny that we exist within a latticework of suffering; homelessness, addiction and poverty surround us, we're experiencing a suicide and mental health pandemic. The suffering touches everyone in some way, this begs the question, how does one go about easing suffering?

Before we're able to address any of these issues individually, we must first ask ourselves, what's the root cause of so much suffering? In a word, dysfunction.

The level of suffering is increasing, dysfunctional families have become the norm, the mental health pandemic is fueling ubiquitous self-medication in all stratum of our socioeconomic paradigm. Dysfunction begets dysfunction, how do we fight an onslaught which comes from within? How do we ease this suffering, not just for today; how do we prepare for a future without suffering?

In our society, social issues are dealt with in two streams, through government programs on the one hand and on the other, the "Care System."  The Care System consists of the churches, charities and NFPs who fund their programs through public alms. As successive levels of government play tag with the financial burden of responsibility for these issues, the Care System remains the foundation of community and hope for an increasing portion of our population. Food banks, clothing banks and community meals, along with support in dealing with housing, legal and myriad other systemic issues, all fall under the purview of the care system. These individuals offer creature comfort and a sense of belonging to those who need it most.

As the inevitable austerity following COVID takes hold, both the number and quality of government programs, as well as the supply of public alms will shrink. The Care System must be prepared for this by embracing the very principles which keep "The System" as the status quo, the principals of economic efficiency and intellectual innovation.

A word from the wise:

"You can't change the system by fighting the system, you must create a new system which renders the old system obsolete."
   -Buckminster Fuller

Any organization is an organism, it evolves, grows, flourishes perhaps, runs its course and ends somehow. As kindred spirits have joined The Collective, the vision for achieving our Mission has evolved and is beginning to crystallize into an achievable proof of concept, the seed of a new system, a caring system.

The first purpose of The Collective is to look after the corpse of Tomorrow

This is the vision of Tomorrow:

 • The Robin's Nest Project: Provide spiritual healing through art therapy programs and holistic addiction treatment programs.

• Kookums Kitchen, soon to be the world's largest soup kitchen franchise

• First Nations Financial: Supporting "local" economic development through micro loans, infrastructure and entrepreneurial development

• Bohemian Bungalows and The Hobo Hilton: Develop and study the feasibility of affordable housing solutions using modular construction

• Accessibility and inclusivity initiatives and support for those with physical challenges through existing agencies.

Live, Love and stay WILD my friends

Love
Tomorrow

Diary Note

My fears are not in my mind, my mind is a slave to my fears. I feel the rebound of my Spiritual highs, this feels like one, the lack of ethanol and caffeine dragging my psyche down. THC up, sitting in the library "listening" to the pressure in my heart, if feels like a web of tensions spreading across my back.  Years ago, when I first started to self-medicate, I was able to let my rational mind, this allowed me to perceive the sensation I was experiencing as a sentient presence which moved as my mind's eye espied it.  unfinished thoughts...
